ESPN is a division of The Walt Disney Company, and is the world’s leading sports entertainment company with a mission to serve sports fans. ESPN Australia holds an extensive portfolio of premium sports rights including the NBA, NFL, MLB and UFC, along with Australia’s NBL and WNBL basketball leagues.
We are looking for an experienced Designer (Sports) with proven digital and content design experience who brings a deep understanding of sports culture, fan engagement, and design expertise to craft assets that resonate with Australian sports fans.
You will enjoy this role if you are conceptually minded and can think through ideas and transforming thoughts into action-driven creative solutions. You are as comfortable following a brief as you are drawing on your own creativity or others to help take projects to that next level. You show a high degree of initiative and excel in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
This is a contract through March 2026 initially. Please include your cover letter and portfolio with your resume.
Your key responsibilities will be, but are not limited to:
Support the creative vision and direction of Executive Director, Senior Creative Manager and Senior Manager, Production across ESPN brands and properties
Support and collaborate with Senior Designer and Creative Manager in the development of digital and print marketing assets for ESPN campaigns including ESPN.com.au, E App, EDMs and social media
Ability to adapt and optimise creative for different screen sizes, ensuring that visuals are strong and consistent across all platforms
Manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently, delivering high-quality work in a timely manner
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite; Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Figma or Sketch for UI/UX
Strong skills in typography, grid systems, and responsive design for digital platforms
Experience designing digital and social outputs according to social/digital channel
Deep understanding of brand voice
Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to UI/UX
Experience with DCO and automation an advantage
Have a deep passion for sports and understanding of modern entertainment and sports culture
Have a positive outlook and value strong stakeholder and team relationships and culture
You keep a cool head under pressure and easily adapt to change, taking a flexible approach to meeting deadlines
