ILM are looking for a strong Senior Generalist who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, production excellence, collaborative mindset and passion for great filmmaking that defines ILM.

Senior Generalists create photo-real environments and landscapes that integrate seamlessly with plate elements. They have a vast knowledge of multiple workflows and can turn around beautiful work quickly to help the VFX Supe and client shape the vision of the project. They are equally comfortable blocking in shots to establish a look as they focusing on the small details required to take a shot to final pixels. Senior Generalists can establish templates and workflows for sequences that other artists can follow.

What You’ll Do

• Create a range of high quality digital environments within a tight timeline and with minimal supervision
• Establish shaders and lighting setups look convincing and render efficiently Source suitable reference materials for required assets
• Participate in rounds and attend dailies for your show and engage in creative conversations with show leads and artists from other departments
• Interpret and respond to client and supervisor feedback with minimal direction from your Lead
• Mentor more junior Artists and assist them with their shots
• Participate and engage with the Generalist team as a whole and contribute to our inclusive, supportive and collaborative culture
• Help to develop and test tools and techniques before they are rolled out to shot artists
• Be prepared to lead a sequence of shots and create the look that the rest of the team follows

What We’re Looking For

• Degree and 7 years relevant professional experience
• Proven ability in multiple CG techniques, including: modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, look development, matte painting or compositing
• Excellent communication and team oriented thinking
• Demonstrated ability to quickly pick up new software
• Fluent in some or all of these software packages: Nuke, 3dsMax, Maya, Houdini Solaris and Renderman and/or Vray renderer. Comparable software experience considered
• Good working knowledge of specialist tools and plugins like Photoshop, Speedtree, zBrush, Substance Painter, Gaea etc
