Senior Operations Manager

As a Senior Operations Manager for Distribution Services, you will be a leader of leaders, providing operational, strategic, tactical, and technology expertise. You will be responsible for the Food & Beverage, General Supply, and Long-term Storage operations. In addition to day-to-day distribution responsibilities, you’ll also be tasked with direct management of Food Safety and The Warehouse Management System.

This position will report to the Manager-Distribution Services.

Job Requirements

• Implement/drive continuous operational improvements based on analytical data and cast/employee/client feedback
• Supervise and monitor daily activities in all operations (F&B, Gen Supply, Long-term Storage)
• Mentor and support implementation of initiatives that improve safety performance; deliver safety training; be a role model for safety awareness in all operations; implement corrective action plans as needed
• Be responsible for the food safety program and annual certification audit
• Cast/employee regulatory training
• Understand and be able to operate within local Warehouse Management System; system super-user
• Direct report (salaried leader) development
• Lead hourly hiring process; anticipate staffing needs and scheduling requirements
• Workflow scheduling and partnership with vendors/suppliers
• Monitor daily operational metrics such as fill rate, order accuracy, management of late and ER orders, etc.
• Manage annual operating plan (AOP) for the area including labor and operating expenses; capital/direct purchase needs for all operations
• Ensure compliance with all operating guidelines, safety regulations, and the local union contract
• Coordinate environmental initiatives to reduce landfill disposals
• Monitor individual and team performance measures; develop productivity improvement initiatives; lead performance management accountability for all operations
• Develop key internal/external partnerships
• Develop and present projects, initiatives, investigations, training, etc. to various internal/external groups

Basic qualifications

• 3+ years of leading in a supply chain, logistics, or related field
• Organizational and time management skills
• Computer proficiency to include Windows and Microsoft Suite
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, as well as continuous improvement process skills
• Ability to manage conflict/resolution
• Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Proven experience and strong understanding of operational systems, with a preference for WMS systems
• Strong Customer Service orientation

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated budget and scheduling management skills
• Bi-lingual (Spanish a plus)
• Experience in the application of Lean Manufacturing Principles
• Experience in leading in a union environment
• Project management skills and ability
• Understanding of 5S and KAIZEN principles
• Leading of salaried leaders

Required Education

• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or related field

Preferred Education

• Master's degree or equivalent
• PMP
