Yellow Shoes is the Global Creative team who comprise the award winning, in-house creative agency dedicated to the development and execution of creative content to support key marketing communication strategies for Disney Parks, Experiences and Products businesses worldwide. Job Summary:
The Director, Creative will provide hands-on leadership for the ideation, creative development and execution of the Marketing and Sales initiatives for Disney Parks, Experiences and Products (DPEP) businesses. The Director, Creative will report to the VP Creative.
As Director, Creative you will lead Yellow Shoes creative teams and external ad agencies to provide creative solutions in the development process and creative services in execution. In addition to partnering with other Global Marketing Leaders, you will collaborate closely with Walt Disney Imagineering, LucasFilm, Pixar, Marvel and Walt Disney Studios teams. You will have high visibility both within DPEP and The Walt Disney Company. The Director, Creative will be based in Glendale, California.
Responsibilities:
Lead an internal 40+ member creative team in ideation, creative, strategic development and executional process. Regularly assess workload, workflow, and project priorities while also strengthening cast performance.
Ensure and maintain cross-discipline expertise. Foster collaboration and sense of community within the creative cast.
Provide leadership in the creative process from brief to ideation to production for the Global Marketing organization including overall creative support to marketing initiatives in the organization.
Assign creative talent to a project or business engagement and work flow.
Embrace an integrated media approach and understand how big organizing ideas work across current and emerging media platforms including but not limited to big campaigns, broadcast, and digital.
Foster an engaging, inspiring, ‘what if’ environment leading to the development and execution of stellar impactful, insight-based creative solutions. You must have a passion for ideation and a high standard for creative excellence, strategic acumen and overall design aesthetics.
Partner with creative leadership to maintain and grow external agency relationships to deliver exceptional creative content and to ensure maximum utilization of staff and freelance resources.
Partner with all internal and external partners including but not limited to: operations, legal, human resources, and finance.
Effectively and persuasively pitch ideas to Sr. Executives while being open to taking feedback and acting upon that feedback with your teams.
Proactively build a talent pipeline of fresh, diverse creative talent to support future demand.

Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of creative and management experience, including corporate, consumer and digital.
Proven leadership track record required, leading cross-discipline teams and leaders.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to different cultures required; international experience strongly preferred.
Proven track record in creative development of best in class advertising and design.
Experience leading teams in the creation of both notable, award-winning creative and business results.
Current knowledge of the latest trends, styles and technologies is a must.
Hands on ability to lead the creative process in both writing and/or art direction then through the production process.
Proven ability to service clients with varying business needs through strong partnership and communication, as well as be able to communicate and integrate well with Production, Technology, Operations and Creative resources.
Be a positive force – keeping teams motivated to deliver excellence.
Domestic and International travel required.
Knowledge and genuine interest in the Walt Disney Company history – including films, animation, television and theme parks.
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $197,640 - $241,560 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographical region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
